This case showcases a comprehensive smile rehabilitation completed through a modern Digital Smile Design (DSD) workflow, from initial assessment and digital planning to the final aesthetic outcome.
The patient presented with significant tooth discoloration, compromised smile aesthetics, and disproportionate anterior tooth dimensions. The primary objective was to create a natural, harmonious, and functional smile that complements the patient’s facial features and individual characteristics.
The process began with comprehensive photographic documentation and intraoral 3D scanning. Based on the collected data, a detailed analysis of facial proportions, smile dynamics, dental aesthetics, and occlusal relationships was performed. Using these findings, a customized digital treatment plan was developed, including the design of new tooth shapes, proportions, and a virtual simulation of the final result.
Following the analysis phase, a complete CAD design was created for both the upper and lower arches. Particular attention was given to symmetry, natural tooth morphology, optimal crown dimensions, and seamless integration of the smile within the patient’s facial framework. A digital mock-up enabled visualization of the expected outcome before the fabrication of the definitive restorations.
The final result achieved a complete smile transformation characterized by enhanced brightness, improved symmetry, balanced proportions, and a harmonious relationship between the teeth, lips, and facial features.
